2013 Champions of Public Education Tribute Luncheon
Saint John, New Brunswick

The Learning Partnership honours innovator and technology entrepreneur Gerry Pond at the Champions of Public Education Tribute luncheon in Saint John on September 13, 2013. Held at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, Mr. Pond will be recognized for his many contributions to public education in New Brunswick. Former Premier The Honourable Frank McKenna,  P.C., O.C., O.N.B, Q.C., will deliver the keynote address and Dennis Cochrane, former president of St. Thomas University will serve as master of ceremonies. The Honourable Marilyn Trenholme-Counsell, O.C., O.N.B., former senator and lieutenant-governor of New Brunswick and honourary chair of this year’s luncheon, will also be in attendance.  The General Reception will commence at 11:30 am. The luncheon will begin at 12:00 pm.

Funds raised at this event support The Learning Partnership programs in New Brunswick, including Welcome to Kindergarten™/ Bienvenue à la Maternelle^MC.  Offered across Canada, this early learning program is currently available in every New Brunswick elementary school in both English and French. Welcome to Kindergarten™/ Bienvenue à la Maternelle^MC provides literacy and numeracy strategies and resources to help parents prepare their children for kindergarten and a lifetime of learning.
