Canada’s Outstanding Principals 2014 Winners Announced

January 30th 2014
The Learning Partnership is pleased to announce the winners of Canada’s Outstanding Principals 2014. Forty principals representing each of Canada’s provinces and territories will be honoured at a Gala Awards Dinner in Toronto on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. The winners were chosen by a national selection committee based on testimonials provided by colleagues, parents, students and community members substantiating their leadership characteristics, significant change management accomplishments, creative initiatives, student achievement results and community partnerships which resulted in the development of a safe and effective learning environment for students.

Distinguished leaders from Canada’s government, business and education communities will gather at the gala awards dinner on February 25, 2014 to honour these exemplary leaders in education. Tickets and tables for the gala are now available for purchase.
While in Toronto the winning principals will also be attending a week-long leadership training program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management discussing leadership theories, issues and practices with pioneers in business and academia. The program also prepares the principals to advise aspiring colleagues as members of the National Academy of Canada’s Outstanding Principals.

This year’s contingent of 40 outstanding principals brings the membership in the National Academy of Canada’s Outstanding Principals to 351. The Academy creates a learning community of outstanding principals across Canada who can share best practices, collaborate on research, interact collegially and act as mentors to new colleagues.
