Students Soar at Dragons’ Nest Launch

January 12th 2016
On Thursday, January 7th 2016, Sheridan College hosted The Learning Partnerships’ inaugural Dragons’ Nest event where 32 talented secondary students from Peel and Toronto District School Boards presented their entrepreneurial ventures to a panel of judges.

The enthusiastic students presented a broad range of innovative business concepts to the Dragons, who created a challenging environment for them through an interactive period of questions about their ventures, which the budding entrepreneurs responded to on the spot.

The participants all gained real life business skills by presenting to a large audience in an unfamiliar setting and through the interactive session with the Dragons. In the end, the students from Harold M Brathwaite Secondary School were selected as the winners for their venture called Bits and Bytes and they will proceed to a national entrepreneurial competition organized by SAGE Canada.

We are grateful to the Dragons, comprised of senior officials from the education sector, business students from Ryerson, and two iconic business leaders, Aubrey Dan from Dancap Private Equities and Christopher Wein the CEO of Great Gulf Homes.

The next Dragons’ Nest event is scheduled for May 19th 2016 and teachers can register now to include their students in the program for semester two starting February.
