Toronto Tribute Dinner

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto, The Learning Partnership will host its 16th annual Champions of Public Education Tribute Dinner. The event, which is The Learning Partnership’s primary fundraiser, will honour Alan MacGibbon, Managing Partner and Chief Executive, Deloitte Canada, and Nitin Kawale, President, Cisco Systems Canada, inducting them into the Champions of Public Education Hall of Fame.

The 2014 Toronto Tribute Dinner is co-chaired by Ken Fredeen, The Learning Partnership Chair and General Counsel / Secretary to the Board at Deloitte Canada and Carol Stephenson, Dean Emeritus, Ivey Business School, Western University. Pattie Lovett-Reid, Chief Financial Commentator on the CTV News Network will serve as Master of Ceremonies. 

This year’s event will feature a keynote speaker, social commentator and editorialist Rex Murphy

Alan MacGibbon and Nitin Kawale join nearly 60 other Champions of Public Education in the Hall of Fame, including recent inductees John Stackhouse, Editor-in-Chief, The Globe and Mail (2013); Her Worship Mayor Hazel McCallion, C.M. City of Mississauga 2012; and Darren Entwistle, President and Chief Executive Officer of TELUS, (2011); and many other senior distinguished business leaders, former premiers, ministers of education and university and college presidents.
