Why is this initiative important for education in Ontario?

Successfully leading a coherent drive for district-wide education improvement is a leadership challenge unequalled in society.  Education directors as system-wide leaders must have the capacity to capture the minds and hearts of all the diverse interests in their communities to recognize and embrace the necessary innovations and systemic and personal changes fundamental to achieving education improvement.

In order to ultimately provide the education their communities and country need to be successful in a globally competitive world, Directors of Education must be well versed in change leadership skills, understand and apply change management strategies and models, and be able to make effective use of a district's human and financial resources.

Who should attend

The program is designed for individuals who are in Education Director positions and individuals or groups of experienced Supervisory Officers, who Education Directors believe have the potential to soon be Education Directors.
