Where young entrepreneurs spread their wings!

What is Dragons’ Nest?

Dragons’ Nest is a program where students become entrepreneurs, right in the classroom, igniting enthusiasm and engagement for all students.

Supported by business mentors, teachers guide their students to create, develop and launch a real venture in class. Students develop entrepreneurial skills as they create innovative ideas of a product or service to meet a market need. In doing so, program participants become socially responsible by donating proceeds to a charity in their community. At the conclusion of the program students submit their ventures through a video pitch where finalists are selected to face our panel of Dragons at the Dragons’ Nest Finale.

The Dragons’ Nest program aligns directly with the secondary school business curriculum.

Drangons' Nest runs from February to May and is available in the following areas:
  • Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
  • London region, Ontario
  • Hamilton, Ontario
  • Edmonton, Alberta

How does it work?

  1. Teachers register online and are paired with a business partner.
  2. Students vet and choose a charity and create a business venture.
  3. Business teachers can share and use curriculum-linked resources via Dragons’ Nest Moodle.
  4. Students have the option to submit a video pitch to enter a competition; finalists will be judged by our panel of Dragons at the Dragons’ Nest Finale.

Dragons’ Nest provides students with hands-on experience and skill development through:

  • Developing entrepreneurial thinking, and hands-on business and social enterprise skills
  • Strengthening global competencies including project management, creative problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, business financial literacy and go-to market skills
  • Experiential learning opportunities guided by  business mentorship, and developing and launching entrepreneurial ventures
  • Learning how to present, market and sell ideas, to a panel of business experts at the Dragons’ Nest Finale
  • Exposure to potential career pathways
