On May 31, the Oasis Skateboard Factory, an alternative school design program in Toronto, and TD Bank Group joined the ranks of former Premiers, Prime Ministers and CEOs as they were inducted into The Learning Partnership’s Champions of Public Education Hall of Fame.
The Learning Partnership honoured the two education stalwarts for their dedication in advancing public education in Canada at the 2018 Champions of Public Education Tribute Celebration, which united business, education and government leaders at the Arcadian Court in Toronto.
Unity Charity, which uses hip hop to empower students and improve well-being in communities across Canada, provided entertainment during the celebration with live graffiti during the reception, and breakdancing and beat-boxing during the gala.
In celebration, the Toronto sign was lit in The Learning Partnership’s colours of orange and blue tonight in recognition of the Champions of Public Education of 2018.
Special thanks to our various event partners who made the Champions of Public Education Tribute Celebration possible:
Our Head of Class Sponsors, Royal Bank of Canada, Deloitte Canada and TD Bank Group; our Honour Roll Sponsors, Scotiabank, Morneau Shepell, CIBC Mellon and BMO; and our School Council Sponsors, Norton Rose Fulbright and CIBC. Lastly, we wish to recognize all corporate and education table sponsors and individual donors for their generous support.
