Coding Trek is a coding and computational thinking based program challenging students in Grades 1 to 3 to help a character, Tulip, solve problems.
Coding Trek is an interactive, technology-driven program allowing teachers to engage students in Grades 1 to 3 on a journey with coding concepts, numeracy, language, social studies and science. Students work through a series of challenges using the ScratchJr program, gathering clues to complete a final digital breakout challenge. In the process they are introduced to core computational thinking skills that build the foundation of coding.
Teachers deliver Coding Trek in the classroom as part of their regular instruction. Program resources and teacher training are available for free via The Learning Partnership’s eLearning Moodle allowing teachers to enhance their practice while building student skills such as collaboration, problem-solving, creativity and communication.
Coding Trek is available to all publicly funded schools across Canada.
