Who can be nominated for The Learning Partnership’s Welcome to Kindergarten™ (WTK) Award for Partnership Excellence?
Community representatives/community agencies/school teams who demonstrate:
  • Excellence in community/school collaboration
  • Excellence in WTK program planning/implementation/follow-up
  • Excellence in promoting The Learning Partnership and Welcome to Kindergarten™ program
  • Excellence in providing support to children and parents/guardians
What are the criteria for eligibility?
Demonstrated excellence in:
  • Supporting the Welcome to Kindergarten™ program
  • School/community partnership
  • WTK program planning/implementation/delivery/follow-up sessions
  • Supporting parents/guardians and providing them with strategies on how to nurture the development and learning of their children
Who can be nominated?
Nominations from all involved with supporting children and families through the Welcome to Kindergarten™ program may include:
  • Community/school representatives who are ambassadors of The Learning Partnership and the Welcome to Kindergarten™ program.
  • Community agencies/representatives who are working with their local school(s) planning/implementing/delivering the Welcome to Kindergarten™ program according to its goals and expectations.
  • Teams of school representatives and community representatives working together implementing WTK
  • Community representatives who outreach and involve other community partners in the WTK program
  • Community representatives/school teams who share/develop/provide strategies to support parents/guardians of young children using the WTK resources.
What is the deadline for nominations?  
Completed nomination forms are accepted from September 2016 to January 31, 2017. 
Who can nominate?
School administrators, teachers, support staff, community agencies, parents, individuals, parent councils, supervisory officer/superintendent.
How do I submit a nomination?
Complete the one of the nomination forms, obtain signatures of nominator and nominee(s) and add a nomination letter and two supporting letters.

How many winners will be selected?
Up to seven awards will be presented annually.
When will the Award winners be announced?
Award winners and all nominees will be informed by late March 2017.
What does a nominee need to do?
The nominee is required to sign and date the “Nominee’s Consent” section in the nomination form. See forms:

When and where will the Awards be presented?
The recipients of the Welcome to Kindergarten™ Awards for Partnership Excellence will be recognized during the months of April/May/June 2017 in conjunction with local community events whenever possible.
What is the Award?
The winners will each receive a distinguished award plaque from The Learning Partnership.  
How are the winners selected?
A representative group of outstanding individuals with early childhood and partnership knowledge from across the country makes up the National Selection Committee. This committee will determine the winners based on the Awards’ criteria.
