James Politeski

President, Samsung Electronics Canada

Recognized for his leadership skills and strategic vision, James has dedicated his career to growing and transforming businesses within the consumer electronics industry. As President, Samsung Electronics Canada since January 2012, James is responsible for the sales, marketing and overall brand reputation of the company’s core business units including Information Technology, Consumer Electronics, Mobile Communications and Home Appliances. With almost 20 years in sales and marketing leadership roles, James is known for building high performance teams and growth-based cultures.

James is also responsible for the company’s philanthropic efforts through its Samsung Hope for Children initiatives. Globally and in Canada, Samsung Hope for Children focuses on issues related to education. In 2012, Samsung Canada was awarded Canada’s Outstanding Employer by The Learning Partnership as one of the top 10 “Take Our Kids To Work” day programs in the country.

James currently sits on the Board of The Learning Partnership, a national charitable organization dedicated to championing a strong public education system in Canada.  He holds a Mechanical Engineering and Management degree from McMaster University, and actively supports his alma mater through keynotes and more.  Supporting education is a family affair in the Politeski household; his two daughters both attended French immersion public schools, while his wife served as chair of the parent council and French advisory committee at their children’s schools over the years. Though supporting education is only one of James’ charitable commitments.  He is also a dedicated supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society and has been a team leader for the Relay for Life since 2006.
